we'll be publishing a profile of Sir David, shortly.

On 20th October 2016 the team behind the Polar Ocean Challenge, led by Sir David, successfully completed an anti-clockwise circumnavigation of the North Pole, from Bristol to Bristol, in one summer season (4 months and one day). The trip involved transiting through both the North East and North West Passages, a journey that previously would have been far more difficult due to impeding sea ice. In doing so, they highlighted the threats facing the arctic environment as a result of these routes becoming progressively more accessible to shipping due to the impact of global warming.
